On the Road Again...

Sometimes I think I want to make excuses just to take my #KiaNiro out for a drive.  She gets 50 MPG, which means around 500 miles on ONE tank of gas in the summer, so we hardly notice the gas price!

We got the 2017 Kia Niro EX in Deep Cerulean.

She is beautiful. She sparkles, she flies, she hovers, and she can be silent as a mouse.

This is my first Hybrid car. We weren't sure what to expect, and not sure how much of a learning curve we would need.  Turns out, you just need to take an extra second or two longer to stop at a stop sign... which basically just requires you to stop - like you're SUPPOSED TO.
The hybrid engine will shut off, and run off the battery while idle, which helps save all that gas for later!

So. Road trip anyone?

Since we both already had Memorial Day off, we used a vacation day the Friday before and took a quick trip down to my favorite place on the planet - the beach.  My goal was to visit Seaside, Florida, and try to relax for a day.  Life is pretty stressful, and we've got some big things coming up that I wanted to stop-doing-all-the-things for a moment.

Tried.

Turns out, the ocean sent us a tropical storm instead.  I blame Payton.  He hates the sun, and I think he prayed for it to be cloudy.  Well he didn't have to ask for a whole storm!

The first night, I needed so much time with the ocean, I grabbed some towels (one was brand new from a friend for my birthday gift, so it was still really soft!) and it became the "sheet" on the outdoor lounge chair, which became my bed.  We listed to the roar of the waves all night long.  Turns out, they're really load when echoing around on the fully cement balcony.

The next night we finally slept in the giant king sized cloud bed.  It was white, fluffy, and everything.

And then the storm came, and we had to leave early to get out ahead of it.  It still followed us all the way home.

For the 'trail', we used these free coupons to choose some of our favorite snacks and combine them for our very own trail mix.  He likes savory, I like sweet but I ended up just making a very salty concoction that was just too much for me to eat.  Sad.  Also, being in the car for so long, my chocolate chips melted into a big globby mess.

The best part was the chocolate chips, prior to melting, and the Kettle Corn Popcorn.

Pretzels are good, but also salty.  They're best with a hershey kiss melted on them (two minutes in the oven) with an m&m on top of that.  Or halfway dipped into a cute color fit for the theme of the party.

No matter what you're favorite snack is, #Kroger has you covered!
