Time for your "First Day"!!

August is a great "first day" month. Kids have their first day of school, students have their first day of college classes, and sometimes adults have their first day of training at a new job!

Payton has been working far too many years at a factory, because that's the place in town that paid - in money but not in time or stress or basically anything happy aside from making friends. He loves people, so they made working there tolerable.

But then one night while standing in a taco bar line, a friend seemingly randomly said "I wish I could hire you." This friend is a manager at a local doctor's office.  After a few jokes, the conversation went from "that'd be nice" to "hmm, what if we actually do it?!"

Fast forward a month or so.... and HE GOT THE JOB, and just started on Tuesday. (also, he graciously gave the last employer a three-weeks-notice because let's face it, they just lost one of their best employees because they didn't value him. but he's still nice even as a parting gift.)

About the same time, I saw the Kroger Mission for first day (school lunch) but thought how great this applies to us right now, too!  Why keep it just for the kids?  Grown ups have to eat lunch too! Lol

A cute lunch box came in the kit:

So the day I made his lunch, kitty had to investigate and approve

Here is the completed lunch: Two sandwiches in the kroger brand bags, a Honeycrisp Apple, a banana, chips, and tucked in some fruit snacks in the handy outside pocket.

Did you catch the little glasses I drew? 8-)

Also, it was breakfast time for all the kitties.

Also important for a first day!

Here was my lunch. Just PB&J lol

Also, being excited about all the new things means checking out all the new things. Like glasses. Here's what happens when you send a picture to your wife, and say you'd like to see it in other colors, too.  And maybe with suspenders and a bowler hat.

DONE.
